Pliny the Minor
So we kicked our Orange IPA a few weeks back and decided we wouldn't be much of a brewer without an IPA on hand and when considering IPA's what better example is there than the industry defacto standard ... Pliny the Elder. Now this happens to be a double IPA but we thought that we could do a DIPA on one side complete with dry hopping in secondary and then leave the other side alone and get a lighter hop profile. Well the recipe calls for almost 30 OZ. OF HOPS!! So currently we are thinking about not dry hopping this one and just leaving it as an IPA ... thus Pliny the Minor. He's still a Pliny... just a little less of one!
